Oh, and to more directly answer the question, no I do not believe there is a way for players to remove this broken buff. I'll either have to remove them altogether in the code, or fix it. So please bear with me, adding it to my to-do list. Will depend on the reason it never worked and if its worth fixing. Giving myself a deadline of the Tigereye Peak festival.

Hello!

This is definitely a coding issue. Forgive my general lack of understanding of the issue currently. This was a very old bug that I never personally saw so it'll take some research on my part to figgure out the best solution.

I believe the code for this fairy buff was broken when it was created in 2016. I'll need to take a look at the code and see if its worth fixing or just culling altogether.

Getting double FC for 10 battles sounds like such a pathetic buff that if I do take the time to fix it, I would consider making it more worthwhile.

Otherwise, worst case I'll just completely remove it from the game. Its not gonna be an imminent as I take time to look at it, and there's other priority code-related things on my list. But definitely before the next Tigereye Peak festival I'll need to have this sorted out.

Leaving this post up as an ongoing bug that needs to be addressed.

For those that don't see the change log, hopefully this will be something helpful to find partners in the Tourneys. Feel free to keep using this forum thread too!


In the header bar you may have noticed a shield and a sword icon, which link to the Standard and Free-for-All tournies. Their icons will light up green if there is a warrior waiting in the queue.

This should be a quick way for one to be aware if anyone else is waiting to participate in a duel.

For those who do not wish to see these icons you can toggle off the "HEADER BAR: SHOW TOURNEY QUEUE" checkbox from your User Settings page.

Please let me in the Bug Report forum if you notice any bugs or if the notification doesn't seem to be working correctly!

As Lance alluded to, the serpent pot is indeed wonky, especially when it comes to adding stackable items. This is something I will ultimately need to look closer into.

As far as I know you aren't actually losing any items when you get the all-too-easy-to-get "you do not own the item" error.

This is certainly something to look closer at. Ultimately the pot needs abit of a re-design.

Hello, I believe you are correct that unlearning the warrior career is failing to delete the old career logs. My assumption is this is a side effect of when the warrior career was revamped years ago. So from my end this is either something I need to fix, or instead change it to simply not say that it'll make it lose its progress.

Out of curiosity, do you have a specific reason that you'd like your warrior to start over again on their leveling progress?

“we have increased VP earned from PvP duels in both Tourneys. In the Standard Duel, you will earn 10 points for a loss and 50 points for a win. In the Free-for-All, you will earn 10 points for a loss and 30 points for a win. Between the two, the VP cap has been increased to 10,000 from 5,000.”

As of now the Free-for-all does not give any extra bonus for completing 10 duels. Going forward the Standard Tourney will reward a special VILLAGER trophy for doing 10 battles.

Otherwise there is no VP reward for the 10 duels. Instead VP is rewarded for individual PVP and PVE battles.

The original mechanics of this were never very clear with the absence of accurate logs, but this was a significant increase. We thought this was more fair than simply doing 10 duels with minimal incentive to do more. I cannot rule out changing the per-duel VP rewards as needed, but there will no longer be bulk rewards for 10 duels.

You should be able to look at your logs to see what VP you get for PVE and PVP battles.

Not to spoil too much but when (no definitive timetable for its completion yet) the doctor revamp is completed, medicines will still be utilized, so the recipes you’ve learned and the medicines you’ve saved will not be wasted. Your villagers getting Ill was disabled a awhile back and there are no plans for them to ever come back.

The mastery mechanic is going to one day he completely done away with, pending revamp to the career. Ultimately all doctor buffs (from costumes and keepsakes) will give simple crafting speed buffs.

I can confirm that a villager being able to change jobs from Cook while still having an item cooking is something that has been possible since I've been involved with FV. I cannot recall if there's other crafting jobs that behave this way as well.

So while this is not a bug, it may be something I may want to consider changing if if is inconsistent with what the guides say, or with what makes sense.

Hello!

Is it possible that you have something selected in there that isn't actually a pet that can go into the menagerie?

Perhaps describe to me how I might be able to reproduce what you are describing?

In any case, the option for placing animals in the Menagerie from Quickstock is a mechanic I have not personally looked into much and I wonder if it needs to be redesigned. It seems to make more sense to have a "mass import" button from the menagerie than a quickstop option, especially if it has bugs.

I'll leave this open as something for me to investigate further.

Hello!

Sorry I was slow to respond to this. The AH updates and other issues have been my primary focus!

Considering the festival is almost over I do not anticipate any changes to the fairy drops this year. Before next year we will re-evaluate them to decide if some fairies need to be fixed, retired from dropping, or otherwise.

Will leave this up as a reminder to myself to check the actual functionality of the Frozen Leaf Fairy specifically.

Keeping this thread as a reminder that at some point will need to come up with a more direct fix. Right now the drax are being reward as extras. Thus it is not showing as part of the recipe.

Update: I’ve disabled the code that deletes the bulk of old battle logs every time you start a battle. I speculate this was overtaxing the database and causing enough delay to result in more of the error.

Instead, the old logs except the most recent will be deleted in bulk daily late at night.

If you notice that the PDO error is still occurring (moreso than usual) please let me know and I’ll look into other potential causes. .

Drake_Valos I recently changed some of the code to in hopes of addressing this issue. Please let me know if you continue to see this error and i'll help me get to the bottom of what could be causing it to occur more often! Thank you!

Thank you for your feedback! I made a change to the code disabling the part that may be slowing things down and leading to the error.

If you or anyone else still sees this error please let me know and I can test other possible culprits.

Call out to anyone who notices this issue, especially those who are experienced warriors!

There has long been a known issue where during battle you can get a "Can't swap PDO instance while within transaction" error message during battle. We believe this occurs when you manage to click "too fast", or fast enough that multiple commands go through for a single turn, causing an error.

One of our staff noticed that since this morning's DB update, they are getting that error message more frequently, despite clicking that their usual speed.

Other staff have not noticed this, but if ANYONE else notices this error happening more often than before please report it here.

If its a true trend, I suspect that the frequent "clearing" of the battleground logs that wasn't happening before could be slowing down the battle log database just enough to allow the error. The proposed solution in that case would be to be less aggressive about log deletion.

Unfortunately not much new to report.

The error message you are getting is basically a "the wheel failed to correctly register an outcome" output. Looking back to last year, it looks like players had reported this same error. However, the cause of those errors were reportedly fixed at the time. At least the causes that were known.

For example, having two instances of the wheel open on different windows and trying to spin them both had caused the error before.

I have been unable to reproduce this error myself and am not sure if what users are reporting now are even being caused by the same situation.

If you do notice this error please report it here with any special circumstances you can think of that may help me investigate what caused it.

In the meantime, for the sake of flavor, I changed the message to say "Awwww shucks I was not paying attention. It only counts if I see it, so better luck next time!"

So if Lucien says that to you, we aren't trolling you. It is a bug of a currently unknown cause. Please do report it here! Thanks!
