help with heavy bunny ears

23 Jul 2019, 8:12 pm
i want to make lopped bunny ears for a convention! but because they will be made out of fur, i expect them to be quite heavy. that's where the problem lies, i have no idea how to attach them to my head/hair so they don't fall off.
are there any good discrete ways to wear them? was thinking about elastic headbands or hair clips, but i fear they won't be enough :(

No idea if this will work or even help but you could try to use a normal headband and either match it with the colour of your hair or get it similar and wrap some hair strands around it to conceal it a bit.
I've done that at conventions with my pony oc. I'm a brunette and the headband is light grey, you couldn't see the headband by wrapping it.

But good luck!

thanks! i was thinking about that but i'm not really into headbands hah
might be the only option though. and matching the color may prove hard as i'll have a pink ombre very soon :x

Maybe you could use hair clips? I have a pair of fox ears that use hair clips, and they work well. Though I recommend strong hair clips because on another pair of ears that I have ( Fennec Fox ), the ears kept getting pulled on by my friends, and... one of them accidentally ripped the ear off of the clip. ( The clips weren't that strong, being made of plastic, but they were the only ones I had on-hand in time for Halloween )

Hope this helps!

Korua thanks, i appreciate the help, but this is an old post ^^;; i already attached the ears using an elastic band and it worked well! however, the headband i sew from it ended up being too tight and super painful to wear for the entire 2 days i spent at the convention.
but i'd still recommend an elastic band for heavy stuff.
