Pretty and useful - interested yet? Well then, first thing's first - go to your village's Crafting and Tailor shops (the paintbrush and briefcase icons respectively in your townhall) and buy the recipes. Your Crafters and Tailors won't know how to make anything without the instructions. You can buy one set of recipes or all of them, depending on which costume(s) you want and how much FC you have. By costume, you'll need:

Each blueprint costs 100FC while each pattern book costs 500FC. Each one can only be taught to one Crafter and one Tailor once, but once that villager has learned the recipes, you won't need to teach them again.

Once that's done, it's time to get into the actual process of making your costume(s). To begin, you'll need Explorers and Warriors. How many depends on how fast you want to get to the Crafting and Tailoring stages (and how many villagers you can afford) because the Explorer and Warrior careers are the ones that will help you gather the majority of the base materials you'll need in order to make your costume. So...

Step 1a ~ Coins/Dollars/Tokens job-warrior.png
These will probably take your Warriors the longest to collect since you'll need 100 of them per costume, and you can only gather them through the loot left behind by the monsters you slay. Depending on the village you live in, you'll be keeping an eye out for one of these:

Again, you'll need 100 of one of these every time you make a costume - best get started.

Step 1b ~ Other Loot job-warrior.png
A second item you'll need are also only found in loot, and you'll need 250 per costume. Fortunately for you, these are more common, and your Warriors should be simultaneously collecting them at a somewhat faster rate. This time, depending on your costume:

It'll still take time of course, but you're guaranteed to finish gathering these items before you meet the coins/dollars/tokens requirement.

Step 2 ~ Raw Materials job-explorer.png
While your Warriors are out there picking fights, your Explorers should likewise be out gathering. Depending on the costume you want, there will be different raw materials required to make it, and it's through your Explorers that you'll be able to collect them. Here's the breakdown according to costume:

Every time you make a costume, you'll need 1 of the first item and 250 of the second item. Neither should be that difficult; again, it's mostly just time-consuming.

21-ye-olde-makeables.png Step 3 ~ Fabrics and Sewing Sets 20-knights-costumes.png
Now it's time to head back to the shops. Yes, yes, we've already been, but aside from the blueprints and pattern books, you still new fabrics and sewing sets. You can buy them at the beginning of course, but buying only as much as is required for each costume ensures you won't accidentally buy too much, and it's a nice checkpoint to give yourself to make sure you have everything you need for your costume.

(Here's a tip: if you want to save a bit of money, you can haggle the price of anything down by 5%. For example, if an item costs 100FC at the shop, you can pay 95FC for it instead.)

So, fabrics and sewing sets. For every costume you make, you'll need 5 fabrics and 1 sewing set. By village, you'll find:

Remember - 5 and 1 for each costume, no more no less.

At this point, you should have all the materials you'll need to make at least one costume. Now it's time to either create a new villager and give them a Crafter career or change one of your existing villagers to a Crafter. If you already have one, there's no need to do either. Remember to teach them the blueprint(s) if you haven't already.

Step 4 ~ Crafting job-crafter.png
You should now have a Crafter who knows the blueprint of whichever reagent you'll need to make the costume you want. Click on the blueprint, and the required materials should be listed for you, including a monetary fee of 250FC. If you're missing something, you won't be able to craft but it should tell you what you still need. Once you have everything, just click Craft. The time it takes to finish crafting a blueprint is 30 minutes, and all of them have a 100% chance of success.

You should only need one reagent per costume. Once your villager finishes crafting, click Complete, and then switch your villager (or buy another, etc) to the Tailor career.

Step 5 ~ Tailoring job-tailor.png
Homestretch, folks. Like the Crafting career, make sure your Tailor has learned the necessary pattern book, and then all you need to do is click it, double-check you have all the required materials, including a monetary fee of 2500FC, and then click Craft. Every costume takes 90 minutes to finish, with a 100% chance of success, and once that's done -

~ Congratulations! You've made a costume! ~
