Costumes

Costumes are one of several ways to change a villager's appearance. Costumes also provide career buffs to the villager once used. Costumes are one-use items. Removing a costume from a villager will not return the costume to your inventory.

Not all villagers have costume art. The Costume List displays all costume/species combinations available. If a costume/species combination is missing from the list, then using a costume on a villager of that species will not change their appearance but will give the applicable buffs.

There are 22 costumes: three for each village, as well as six unaffiliated costumes. 
First of all, there are three costumes you can make for each village:

Each career has a costume buff, and each costume buffs 1-2 careers.

Making a costume is a multi-step process. Most costumes require two to three recipes. The process will go something like this:

1. Explore and battle for materials and loot.
   
2. (optional) Brew dye with an alchemist.
   
3. Craft the final component with a crafter.
   
4. Tailor the costume.
   

If you are making a costume from your own village or any of the unaffiliated costumes, go to your village's Crafting and Tailor shops (the paintbrush and briefcase icons respectively in your townhall) and buy the recipes.

Each blueprint costs 75-125FC, each pattern book costs 375-625FC, and each dye recipe costs 10000FC with the exception of the recipes available in The Fair Exchange. 

Most reagents you will need are available from exploring and battling in village-specific battlegrounds or Spirit Lions. The rest can be purchased from the Crafting and Tailor shops where the recipes are available.
