Just to answer your questions about costumes, they are items that your Tailor/Crafter villager can make for other villagers to wear. You will need to acquire a pattern book from the glacial costumes store (which can be difficult due to low restock rate) but once you have one you will be able to teach your villager how to make a certain costume. Which costume they make depends on what pattern book you get your hands on (i.e a Fluffy Pattern Book will make a Fluffy costume) Different villages stock different costumes, there are also plenty of people offering their tailor services to make you a costume if you provide the materials.. Once you have made/bought a costume, just go into your inventory and click on it, then it will ask which villager you want wear the costume. Different Costumes give different buffs to careers.
