A quaint little village on a riverbank near the ocean. It's calm, and quiet...nothing at all out of the ordinary. After all, no-one ever leaves who could tell you otherwise.
Half the year the entire village is flooded. Completely underwater. No-one knows how the villagers survive, but they're there, before, after, and during the flood.
Some speak of a monster living in the waters surrounding this village. A horrible creature who lures you in with her dancing light and her beautiful song

No it's not offensive, I absolutely love WTNV and if Arc reminds anyone of it I'm delighted. He's gone through a few iterations but generally has always been pretty Lovecraftian and as such Night Valeian, which is fine with me. I didn't cosplay anything when we went but my friend wore a Desert Bluff's shirt and I had a purple shirt with skulls on it so we were pretty evenly matched for town representation. (also any excuse to wear a labcoat is a good excuse)
Last thursday I was in Tampa because it was the first showing of Ghost Stories and Cecil made me cry a lot. That being said Arcturus predates Night Vale and is only a radio station host because he was a radio station host in The Secret World thanks to my husband's OC being a radio DJ for real- said OC is the one mentioned on Arc's page as being capable at plugging things in (and I ended up hosting an indie and ambient radio block in character like for realsies via streaming service.) Arcturus is actually TERRIBLE with technology and tries really hard but is kind of the equivalent of one's grandmother on facebook. (He owes more to Lovecraft than to Night Vale in terms of creation but yes I AM A FAN)
