"A tall, thin calico bobtail sits at his desk, textbooks piled up on either side and a notebook laid flat in front of him. On the lined pages, drawings. Drawings of airplanes, spaceships, and other types of space-related vehicles mixed in among his study notes. Stars glitter beyond the window to his right. The pencil in his hand taps idly on the desk's wooden top, matching the rhythm of the music streaming from his earbuds."
Mint is a university student, studying engineering. As a kitten, he'd always had a keen interest in space and dreamed of one day working for NASA or traveling into space. The star student of space club in his youth (pun fully intended), Mint went on to be the leader and founder of his University's space and astronomy club. When not doing his homework or drawing in his books, you can often find him at the observatory on campus, gazing fondly at the stars. Or, if not there, at home with his beloved telescope; a gift from his parents that he's cherished all his life.
Despite his sharp gaze and constant serious expression, Mint is fairly friendly and has a number of friends. He's gifted with patience, and other students in class often turn to him for a clearer explanation or even one-on-one tutoring if they struggle in a certain subject. His friends sometimes describe him as aloof, but he's quite observant and picks up on more than people might think. He's one of those people capable of telling a joke and not laughing at the end. Smiles are rare from him, but he does smile and laugh when he's genuinely enjoying himself. He's guilty of obsessing over certain interests and can have a bit of a one-track mind at times, but he tries hard not to let it get the best of him or interfere with his ability to converse with fellow students. He's also fairly quick to get attached to people if they share a common interest of his.
Alongside his telescope, Mint has a star projector lamp in his room that he turns on before he goes to sleep. He also collects toys and plushies related to space and aliens and has a number of model airplanes and spacecraft lining his bookshelves. He has a trusty one-strap backpack he wears whenever he leaves his house, containing textbooks, sketchbooks and notebooks, pens, pencils, and his trusty tablet computer. The backpack's strap is littered with can badges depicting various phrases and interests of his, and there's an embroidered NASA patch sewn onto the backpack as well. He also owns an iPod Touch which he carries in the pocket of his shorts, the wire for his earbuds wrapped around it when not in use.
He lives by himself in a small house and makes a living through tutoring fellow students and being a freelance artist. In addition to his dreams of working for NASA, Mint is also working on obtaining a pilot's license and hopes to someday save up enough money to buy himself a small plane for personal travel and leisure.
