Blacksmith is classified as an Artisan career, because it depends on raw materials from Explorers and Warriors. It provides Weapons and Armor to Warriors.

Your villager starts with an empty screen and 0 Skill. Skill affects Durability. Blacksmiths need to learn Recipes called Schema in order to work. A villager can learn any recipe from any village. There were originally 2 Rare and 3 Super Rare Schema per village.
Schema for your village can be found in your village's shop

Once you have your desired Schema, head into your Inventory to teach them to your villager.

Crafting a Schema is as simple as clicking on it and waiting for 60 minutes.
Rare Shield recipes follow the pattern of 15 each of both Uncommon Materials from Explorers, and

Rare Weapon recipes are not perfectly consistent: 15 Uncommon Loot from Warriors or 15 Uncommon Materials from Explorers, 1 or 15 Common Reagents from the weapons shop

Super Rare Shield recipes follow the pattern of 15 each of both Uncommon Materials from Explorers, 5 Rare Materials from Explorers, 1 Rare Reagent from the weapons shop

Super Rare Weapon recipes are not perfectly consistent: 15 each of both Uncommon Materials from Explorers or 15 Common/Uncommon Loot from Warriors instead of the 2nd exploration Material, 5 Rare Loot from Warriors, 1 Common Reagent from the weapons shop

Super Rare Helmet recipes follow the pattern of 500 Coins/Tokens from Warriors, 5 Skulls from Warriors, 10 Uncommon Reagents from the weapons shop

Blacksmiths can use a recipe as many times as they'd like once they have learned it. If you would like your villager to forget a recipe, the Unlearn option is available in the bottom left corner of every recipe window.

Each item that a Blacksmith completes raises their Skill by 1. The Durability of an item is its minimum durability plus the villager's Skill (up to its maximum crafted durability). Minimum durability for every item is half of its maximum.
Applying one of three costumes decreases crafting time by 5%.
The finished Equipment from your Blacksmith is used by Warriors. There are 3 Elements for Weapons and Armor: Balance, Dark, and Light. Most equipment have Wins Required to use.

Item Durability Potions can increase max durability beyond its crafted limit.
In addition to crafting, Blacksmiths can also Repair Equipment before it breaks at 0 durability. Repair times are improved by the villager's skill level. However, the improved time is not displayed when you initially select an item, so don't worry if the times look the same between a 0 Skill and a 200 Skill villager.
Repairing equipment requires an amount of Steel and time dependent on the durability lost and the rarity of the item.

If you don't have a Blacksmith of your own, visit the Maintenance Market to hire one. When you use the Maintenance Market, you still have to provide the Steel for the repair. Also keep in mind that prices can be listed in

To make your Blacksmith available on the Maintenance Market, you simply have to set your rates in

Blacksmiths are able to repair even if they don't know any recipes and have 0 skill.

As with any Career, your villager has a chance of falling ill with each completed action. Crafting and repair times are doubled for a Blacksmith with a minor illness. Villagers with a major illness cannot work at all.
