I only know about Construction, Animal, Herbal, Explore and Tailor :)
I don't think that you need to take the doctors potions if you can make your own ones :)
Take a look at the Help setion ! Everything is written down there.

About your Feral Illness. You have to buy a potion to cure it :)
It was diffrent % to succeed so just buy 1-3 potions and make the ill villager active. Then go to your inventory and use the potion. Maybe it succeed or not :)
