Are you using the actual villager's ID? It's different than the profile ID.

Go to your animal husbandry career, click on the pet you wish to transfer, transfer animal should be an option.. You'll need to enter the user's animal husbandry villager's ID at the top and then you should be able to just click send. You can test it on one of my animal husbandry villagers if you;d like and I'll send your pet right back to you after :]

you can buy houses on the market, as they are items. they tend to be rather expensive, though. you could always temporarily switch one of your villagers to a construction worker whenever you need to/have enough wood to build a house, though! it can take a while to save up the 150 wood (in your case marble slabs) if you're just getting it from exploring.

you can build houses with a villager that is a construction worker. after your fourth villager slot you have to make houses to get more slots, instead of just being able to buy them.
