The time had come. They all became well established in their lifes roles. They all found purpose.
Some goodbyes hurt far worse than others, but all still tore him apart. He didn't dare show it.
Leaving a battle scarred warrior, who has just parted with all he cared for, alone in an empty home that once held so much life. . it's almost cruel. He could feel the weight of the emptiness; it crushed him. In a way, he was glad to be alone then. ..he would have been ashamed if anyone had seen him sobbing like that. .
*Many days later*
Aspen walked silently through the Manors, taking in all the sights and sounds of the village. He quietly walked out to battle with a crumbling shield and depleted weapon. He knew full well what was going to come. He felt no fear or pain. He was struck down instantly by a Rare Impailer. There in the woods, alone, bleeding, and tired; he thought of it all. He thought of the first day he met Astilbe. .and he thought of each day after. Warmth washed over him as he reminisced, relived each day. Every laugh, every smile, every trial. He smiled and laughed. He cried tears of all emotion. Then; he felt so light. . so calm. . .
