Pewdiepie is so famous for it too, it's crazy. I think he really just got lucky though. He certainly isn't the only super over the top gamer on youtube, but somehow his channel is the most massive.
Their videos have so many views, but they actually only have a little over a million subscribers. Compared to a lot of channels, that's a ton, but I would think they'd have even more all things considered.
Sounds like my kind of channel! Though I do try to steer clear of the big guys, and support smaller more neglected channels
