About

Amadeus was born into a warrior race of felines that had long since refined and mastered the art of war. War was something they were born into, slathered in the blood of their weeping mothers and then by the hot brand of their tribe exactly 87 minutes after birth.

Then the babes were cast into the Lothric River, a holy river that had once carried the bodies of a million men, and those that survived were those who were given a warm home and bosom and love and tender care.

At the age of six midwinter feasts, the warrior kits were set to kneel by their twin King, the sickly, womanly Upper king, wise and stern but with feeble lungs and a feebler constitution, and the large, brooding Lower king with strength in each fiber of his being, but with legs so marred by war and combat they can do nothing but crawl.

The kits' mouths were kissed, and in their mouth was planted the petal of the Emorphous plant. It is poisonous, fatal, even, to adults, but to children it is sacred, and needed, for children only can see the visions it gives. Most, only see glimpses of the future, often theirs, with families and children and homes and war trophies and laying bleeding and dying but honourable on a battlefield.

Amadeus saw all, however. They saw everything that could ever be and ever was, and was struck dumb and blind and mute at the sight. Their parents rejected them, seemingly too weak to even take the Emorphus plant and come out unscathed. But the Upper king knew what had occurred, and took the kit in for himself, and his brother.

And together, they raised the kit on the heartbeat of the cosmos, on the snorts of arrogant stars before they are snuffed by the patient, but grinding sands of time. on the howls of cities and civilizations as they sank beneath the earth, just like everything must, one day.

Amadeus knew more about the world at large, about the throbbing end of the planet, the dying whimpers of the universe when it grows faded and muted, and even of something after, something young and new and like a phoenix rising out of ashes of something that couldn't ever truly return, than their village, their environment. And so when one day a crimson fire wyrm came, shortly after the Beltane Festival, and asked an audience with the kings, they thought nothing of it.

However the twin kings were soon gobbled up by the wyrm, and it morphed and coiled and changed into their visage, their voices, their colours, but not into their love, their affections. Nithhogg, the Root Gnawer, the Kin Destroyer, ate his own children that day.

Amadeus knew that there was an imposter right away, and ran, and ran, and never came back.

They heard that the Claws of the Dark Sun had burned all one day in a fit of divine rage. Amadeus knew the truth, however, but kept quiet.

Amadeus tried to fit in, truly, they did, but sightings of the past, present, and future were unpredictable, and made them both feared and loathed by the people they met. And they ended up leaving, always, unneeded wherever he went.

One day, they were offered yet another home by a pale paw with yellow marks, and met soft golden eyes.

They were different, somehow, from all of the eyes they'd ever seen in their short life.

"Let's go home, Amadeus." She said, and Amadeus has followed ever since.
