Nathanhiel Koenig didn't always know he was a Mage. A virtual orphan, his mother went missing during wartime, and his father joined a neighboring kingdom's army in hopes of finding her, eventually going missing as well. Nathanhiel was raised by family friend, Arthur Vogel, until he discovered the truth about his heritage.
Feeling lost and without a sense of self, he demanded Arthur train him as a Mage. In only a year, he finished his training with ease. He sent off in search of his father, Erik na Asla.
He enrolled into the Army, where the High Generals mistake his loyalty and obedience for him being an easy pawn. They pressed Her Majesty King Erriyan to take Nathanhiel as her personal Knight, in an attempt to overthrow her. Their plan backfired when Nathanhiel became fully devoted to the King.
