About
Illia is one of my beloved OCs from FF XIV, so I of course had to bring her over here.
She is a Seeker of the Sun Miqo’te, but was NOT raised in a tribal setting.
There's a lot of XIV info ahead!
Illia was found in the ruins of a small village between the mountainous borders between The Black Shroud and Coerthas. It looked like a dragon or hoard of beasts had torn through their settlement; she was an infant wailing from the small space her mother had hidden her in amidst the ruins. One of the Woodwailers took her home and raised her with his family.
She was the baby of three siblings with doting parents.
She trained with a spear and bow from a young age with her eldest siblings under the guise of just playing games. Her mother and the youngest brother trained her in the ways of botany, potion-making, and cooking. When they realized she was sensitive to the flow of aether around her, she was also entrusted to lessons from the Conjurer’s guild. She can sense aether very acutely, but she cannot control it very well. The only Conjury she can really use is basic healing.
In adulthood, there are branching paths.
She was initially written in mind as a background character of the main events in the MSQ of the game. She operates in her life as a bounty hunter and explorer. She specializes in finding rare herbs and animal materials, especially in areas that are too dangerous for others to go into. It’s a life that best suited her eclectic skill set.
Around the events of the MSQ beginning, she gets her hands on an engineer that left Garlond’s company. She founds a shipping company, flying her airships with no fear of Garlemald. They specialize in transporting people and goods safely. In Alphinaud’s Big Plan in Endwalker, she was one of the ones that helped gather large amounts of the needed metals and transported them with her small fleet.
As the Warrior of Light, her journey started as a favor to Mother Miounne to accompany a new promising adventurer to a dungeon that had claimed several lives already. The rest is history and I won’t detail how she changes through the ordeals of the Warrior.
