Brother of Kali.

His father was an Admin of Team Aqua, while his mother was a demon, sed***ng men into obeying her whims. Shade was born of the two, a half-demon with no unhuman powers, as far as anyone could tell. For his whole life, Shade has never known his mother, only the severely mentally-ill woman who birthed Kali, his half-brother, and the terrifying, distant father that they both hated.

The two of them knew nothing about Shade's supernatural nature, and they happily spent their childhoods on the ranch their father owned just south of the White Forest in the Unova Region. They spent their lives in isolation, only knowing Kali's severely demented mother, their father, and a wild Scrafty that Kali had befriended.

It wasn't until one certain day that all this came to a crashing end. It is suspected that a small band of Psychic-type wild Pokemon had passed closeby, and that a Ho-oh was amongst their ranks. The telepathic ability of the Phychic-type Pokemon had allowed them to hear desperate cries of fellow Pokemon, even fellow species.

Learning too late, the half-brothers discovered a depraved laboratory in the basement of their house. Caged Pokemon cried weakly and called for help from their restraints. Sick experiments were being run on a nearly featherless Pidgey in the corner. A thick headpiece was tightly wound around a blank-faced Medicham along the opposite wall. It seemed like the place went on forever, helpless Pokemon packed in tight and whimpering in fear at the two boys, as they had been conditioned into doing.

Enraged, the band of Psychic-type Pokemon attacked the acreage. They were blind with rage, and easily laid waste to the building, freeing the poor souls their father had trapped. During the utterly traumatizing event, an enraged Kirlia had Shade cornered.

It was prepared to kill. Shade understood this, and all preconceived thought left his head. Instinct drove him, and he was pushed to such a base level that suddenly, his previously dormant demon powers awakened in a flash of light. His body melted away to a shapeless black form, and an incredibly powerful aura surrounded him. All the attacking Pokemon immediately halted their destruction, understanding that they were in the presence of something else.

Something..... unshackled. Wild. Terrible.

Not a single muscle moved, for fear of becoming a target. Silence deafened everything in the area.

Shade was not who he was anymore. He would lay waste to anything he came across, unless he was contained. One certain Pokemon knew this, and with a blinding rainbow of colours, a bird descended upon Shade and his brother nearby. Kali does not remember what happened during these moments, but when the two awoke, the house was ash, the grasslands in the area were ash. Even Kali's favourite tree was ash.

Kali wandered alone in the night, not knowing at all what went on, where his mother was, where Shade was. He awoke with whispers in his head, and the only things he could make out were "He is contained. In the shade he will be d**ned for ever."

In the morning hours, just when thr sun peeked over the edge of the trees, Kali could feel an imposing presence. Unsure of where to pinpiont it, he continued walking along his destroyed childhood home.

Shade is a half-demon, confined to the shadow of his half-brother. He is completely unable to talk, due to his power restraints. (His mouth stitches.)

He may travel anywhere and still be attached to Kali, as long as there is no bright light to interrupt the actual shadow that Kali casts on the ground.

At night he is nearly omnipresent.
