About
Maki is extremely private, and slow to trust. They use magic to move when not in water. Easily startled, and quiet enough to startle their friends whether meaning to or not, they generally avoid socializing for long, Despite longing for a closer relationship than "acquaintance," they are reluctant to share details, and their silence can sometimes be taken as a sign of disinterest. They are most uncomfortable around Nick, Phoebe, and Tuesday. Mani can overwhelm them, if he's having a particularly high-energy, unfocused day. Maki is generally alright with Sophie, but has been startled by her more often than anyone else, as the raptor is also light-footed.
Still, the fox cares deeply for the odd little group they've been adopted into, and they rotate between trades to help out whenever an extra paw is needed. Maki prefers to flip-flop between jobs that allow them plenty of free time to watch the ocean life swimming past oceandome' magical barrier. Currently this is a rotation between animal husbandry, exploring, or gardening, though they also have volunteered to assist Phoebe due to the chance to encounter more ocean life. Maki is convinced their true talent lies in tailor's work, but hasn't been able to do much of it, Those seadollars aren't common.
Maki probably spends most of their social time around Sophie, Prroxy and Marro, and by extension, Mani. Most of these activities allow them plenty of time to themselves. Gardening is quiet work, and Prroxy is cautious to avoid extended conversation with Maki if her anxiety has been acting up. The gesture is appreciated.
Given time, Maki may make some headway in coming out of their metaphorical shell, but in the meantime they're happy to be able to have support from people who are patient and understanding.
