As much as he tries not to be, Berry is a worrywart, and a pretty big one at that. He tries to keep a cheerful countenance and a sunny personality, but they can't keep from worrying about what could go wrong or what could happen to people they care about.
It was what motivated them to take up medicine; they hope that by mastering cures, they'll be able to have more peace of mind with the knowledge that he can guarantee people's health. As such, he is very motivated in his work, fluctuating between determined pep and tense focus. He tries to be aware of this and, when not working, can be found relaxing the best way he knows how: tending to his garden. They attempt to balance this, so to better maintain their cheerful front.
They hope someday putting up a front will be unnecessary, and until then adopt a "fake-it-until-you-make-it" mentality.
An easy way to calm him down is to offer candy or fruit—he has a bit of a sweet tooth.
