Alfric made his way to Dragonsmaw Manor as a young buck wanting the freedom to live life the way he wanted to, which accidentally landed him in a carpentry front for a gang. Though he never formally joined the gang, they respected him for how well he did his profession, and gave him protection against the other local gangs. The front ended up being found out, and the gang arrested, but Alfric continued to do carpentry work. Years later, he found Bean, who was looking for a house, and made one for him on the spot. Bean continued to visit Alfric, and eventually the two started dating.
When it comes to the other villagers, Alfric minds his own business, but is more than happy to do favors for them since they're Bean's friends. He's a rather easygoing buck, but he did learn how to defend himself while working for the gang, and won't hesitate to use what he knows if he needs to defend himself or his friends.
