About
Azeban, the Motherly
According to mythology, Azeban is a trickster spirit that, instead of being malevolent, was harmless- doing well meaning pranks and jokes. Tradition states that those with raccoon-like features may be named after Azeban. Similarly, the Tanuki in Japanese Myth cause harmless, silly pranks with their shapeshifting and are also considered good luck.
Azeban is a large, heavy Tanuki woman, who speaks with a loud, booming voice and who is extremely cheerful, friendly, and loving to all those around her. She loves to have fun, and often plays well-meaning pranks on the other townspeople and those she cares for. She is very protective of those she cares for, and any threat towards them will cause her to fly into a berserk rage.
She is considered the mother of Triccaresholm. If anyone needs advice or help, they will go to her and she will do all she can to help them. Some consider her overbearing and irritating and will avoid her.
Name: Azeban
Race: Bake-Danuki; (Raccoon Dog with supernatural powers)
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Profession: Takes care of children, as well as the health of the animal companions- like a veterinarian, but more along the lines of motherly home remedies.
Strengths: Boistrous, friendly, playful, loyal, motherly, caring, protective. Has the power of shapeshifting, and slight wind manipulation.
Weaknesses: Too trusting, well-meaning jokes, pranks and jabs can be actually harmful. Can be overly protective of those she cares about, to the point of jumping into a rage and physically harming others- cannot control their wind manipulation when in a rage. Cannot change her voice when she shapeshifts- which means it's a dead giveaway if she ever speaks.
