About
Enter Katharina, an ever-chipper moth with a party-tamed Black Birb and a satchel full of medical textbooks. He had made his way to Tigereye Peak proper by way of a sketchy map, a cold but willing guide-for-hire, and a bundle of warmth in the form of their beloved Birb.
Flintlock had met him on a supply run for Crimsonette's increased interest in alchemical studies. He was staying at the local inn, asking around for a cozy home-preferably more private than the busy inn. He had a decent stockpile of FurCash to spare for a tenancy, and assured he would be able to pay for himself- in time, of course. Flintlock, independent and ever-so-slightly mistrusting, wasn't sure about letting in the Quetzal Palace native, but the next day, he took Crimsonette into town to meet him. (He figured they could at least use the FurCash, after all.)
To Flintlock's mild dismay, Crimsonette was quickly swayed by Katharina's mildly-eccentric charisma and similar backstory to hers. He had moved away from his home village to study to become a doctor, for there weren't many places of higher learning in his home area of Quetzal Palace. A few misplaced directions and a graze through a library on the outskirts of Tigereye Peak later, and he decided that, even if medicine was more traditional than academic in the area, there was much to learn here, which could perhaps someday aid in his gaining of a degree.
Crimsonette was ecstatic to have a fellow scientifically-minded traveller in the area, and his Quetzal Palace past provided an extra culture to study in her free time. They soon began to chat up a storm, and Flintlock knew he would be coming home with them, on one condition- Just as long as he'd keep quiet, pay rent, and care for his own Birb, he could stay. Katharina, of course, was happy to have a calm, rural area to study his chosen proffesion in, so he agreed.
He adjusted to Tigereye Peak's climate much easier than Crimsonette due to his coat of fluff, but he still has trouble waking up and keeping his wings and antennae from getting stiff. He and Crimsonette often pair up to read older texts from Tigereye Peak's central library, one hoping for cultural clues, and the other hoping to rediscover medicinal recipies. He tries his best to help Flintlock with his duties, always figuring he owed something more, but he's never very successful, so Flintlock often has to restrict him to the most basic of jobs. (He's greatful for the help, though he'd never say it, but doesn't paricularly want an overworked, clumsy moth getting in the way of things.)
