Villager: Nightstep

Nightstep is a wolf who, while from an ordinary village of ordinary wolves, is somewhat unusual in her nature. As a pup, she spent much time trying to convince her peers of her great abilities; she led her own pack, she had wild wolf blood, she could change form to become a dire wolf. None of this true, of course. She left her village, her peers having grown tired of her attempts to be cool and "mystical". She left for the wilderness and was gone for many, many moons. When she returned, the first her neighbors noticed (she did not have many friends) was that her eyes held a deep, powerful instinct-laden gaze scarcely different than meeting the eyes of a feral wolf. They quickly learned that she had also gained something much more impressive... Nightstep had come home from the wild with the agility, swiftness and sureness of step of a wild wolf, not to mention the instincts to match.

Nightstep appears mostly normal if a bit awkward to those who talk to her - although shyness is completely nonexistent - and generally appears clumsy at first impressions. However, when given the opportunity to act, she takes it. She is swift on her feet and follows orders from nobody. She is rebellious to the idea of cozy village life, instead spending her nights in the wilderness and days relaxing in the village. She refuses to slow her pace for most of the villagers, leaving those who once mocked her to merely share from the kills she makes and never allowed to hunt alongside and learn from her.

She is well-liked among the village pups, and they are the only ones she will allow to shadow her on her nightly outings. While the village is keen on her sharing her skills with the pups, some find it slightly worrying that they often return home with an odd sparkle in their eye, like the beginnings of instinct starting to return to them...
