You stray just a little too far from Celeste on your way through the woods and you freeze in your tracks.
Something is watching you, you can feel eyes on your form and you swallow nervously. Your eyes dart around quickly but you see nothing.
You backtrack a little and stumble upon a spiders nest. Something tells you they won't hurt you so you swallow any fear you have and go around the nest rather than stomp through it.
The intensity of being watched seems to lessen minutely, and you find yourself relaxing just a little. A Wabbit races past you and you smile until you see Wuffs chasing it, following it's scent.
You want to intervene but you don't because that same feeling with the spiders is back. You don't do anything and simply watch as the Wuffs take it down and howl triumphantly.
You feel a tickling sensation on the back of your neck and you swear you can feel breath on your skin. You close your eyes and tense up, not moving in the hopes that whatever it is will go away.
"Hey," Celeste calls, not too far off to your left, snapping you out of it and seeming to make whatever was breathing on you leave, "You're a little too far off, come back this way."
You eagerly do so but the feeling of being watched never leaves you, not even when you're back in the center of the little town.
The Guardian is the guardian of the forest, they protect the animals that live there. Poaching and hunting are severly frowned upon by them and they never forget what you've done if you kill something in their presence.
They are immortal and have been around since time began, to keep the balance and harmony in the forests.
You can tell when you're in their territory, you'll feel eyes on you, you'll feel judged. Any man made things will be overgrown with foliage, no matter how new or old they are. The animals do not fear any beings in their forest when the Guardian is around, even normally skittish animals will be relaxed and calm.
They stay in the shadows until they're needed and then they feast upon the offender.
