About

☆You're in control of your destiny☆
"Your future is right around the corner, don't miss the train!"

It was finally the day. All of the kittens had left the house for their own adventures. Charlie however promised their parents to look over the house when they went on a trip to the next town over. Not only had they promised, but they also were talked into cleaning the attic.

After taking a small nap, Charlie decided that it would be now or never to tackle to job. That was two naps ago. They were a cat after all, napping is a very important part of the day, The chair was nice and cozy compared to the cold, dusty attic.

Thump, thump, thump.

Charlie picked up their ears. What on earth was that? No sound they had ever heard coming from the attic. Rolling their eyes Charlie stretched and rose from the arm chair.

"Typical, Peli is trying to scare me."

Slowly wandering to the base of the attic stairs, Charlie called up to Peli.

"Haha, I'm not impressed. You'll have to do better than that to spook me!"

There was no vocal response from Peli or anyone. However, there was a series of thumping and skittering moving away from attic door over to the side with the old window. Then the house was again silent.

Charlie wondered if they had scared a big mouse or maybe a bird that had gotten into the attic. That would be very unusual though, the house had had recent repairs to the attic to prevent such creatures from entry.

They walked up the stairs very quietly, watching every step to avoid scaring whatever was in the attic any further. Grabbing the door knob gently, they twisted and pushed the door in.. except it didn't move at all.

"..Are you serious.. it knocked something in front of the door?"

Charlie tilted their head to peek under the door. They were right, it was a chest, not a very big one, placed in front of the door. It didn't looked like it had fell though, which was strange. It was standing perfectly in it's little wooden legs.

"Alright chest over you go.." Charlie said softly pushing on the door.

It just wouldn't budge. How could a little chest be so heavy? Charlie sighed and sat down on the stairs. They placed their head on their knees and let out another sigh,

"How can I even clean the dumb attic with junk in the way."

BANG

Charlie practically fell down the stairs and into the kitchen. With fur double it's original size and their heart in their throat, Charlie panted. Slowly sliding down the wall, Charlie laid on the floor barely able to keep calm.
