Oh man, that's so hard to choose, even for him. Almost all of them end up being a favorite. He especially loves the old school games on consoles like the Nintendo 64, Sega, and Super Nintendo. A lot of the newer games are good too. Some of his favorites are Ocarina of Time, Mario, Banjo series, Conker, Crash Bandicoot, Donkey Kong series, Joust, Smash TV, Fable, Dishonored, etc. As you said, there's just too many, haha. Bioshock was good, too.
