Hookclaw is generally ostracized for being an aquatic dragon who lives on land. In order to survive, they use a reverse-working diver suit that lets them breath as if they were still underwater. Their permanent home is a murky lake that most folks tend to keep well away from.
Hookclaw is obsessed with the weird things that can be found on land, and spends much of their days killing and dissecting monsters from all over. The diver suit keeps them protected from the contaminants that would most likely plague them when cutting up the monsters found in the wilds.
Hookclaw has very few friends, because they tend to come on strongly around new faces. Their obsessive need to learn about land dweller culture fuels an intense interest in anyone willing to give them a moment of time.
