Staetriss is a living galaxy, and while he uses male pronouns, truthfully the concept of gender simply does not exist for his kind. They have no such thing as sexual reproduction, they are conscious entities of gas, empty space, and rock, they do not reproduce in the way the furry mind may imagine.
He found his was to Furvilla after he noticed some trouble brewing on the planet, a certain Angel and Demon Lord were having an argument, and he could feel their powers causing disturbances in the natural electromagnetic field of the planet. He descended and broke the two apart, stopping Voldemort from strangling his friend, and essentially had to take up the role of parent to the two, as they seemed to always be at each others throats. He takes the form of a lion due to having a liking for the large mane, alongside both the fact that they are frequently represented as protectors, and that he has many orange and yellow gases in his 'body', meaning that he can actually match the colors of the actual creatures, to an extent, of course.
He has chosen the role of warrior as he is a natural protector, having adopted whole species and civilizations under his care, protecting them from threats, both natural disasters and from enemy species. He has also taken the role of warrior so that he might have a better excuse for when he has to rip two squabbling supernaturals off of each other. He's just keeping the peace like any warrior should, you know?
