About

Kristo is a vampire born into a royal family during a time of war between their kingdom and neighboring kingdom of werwolves. Growing up he was always aware of what was happening around him, and his parents made no effort to hide the realities of war from him, but he hung onto hope that his reign would mark a new era of peace.

His parents were optimists, but never sugarcoated the truth for him. They too wanted an end to the war, more and more after seeing the suffering it caused in their kingdom, but hostility was too high among their people to reach a peace with the werewolves. Fights would escalate quickly among the citizens on the outskirts who wanted to claim fresh land for themselves as the kingdom expanded, and as much as the King and Queen insisted that they did not approve of these actions, their people cheered on every victory and bristled over every defeat, throwing wood into the fires of war. The vampire kingdom had long ago officially ceased campaigns to fight the neighboring kingdom, but the King and Queen couldn't stop citizens from acting on their own free will, and the werewolves fought back with equal vigor.

Finally the King and Queen were able to covertly meet with the Alphas and arrange a peace: in ten months Kristo and one of the werewolves' children would marry, and create a political bond between the two kingdoms. The child closest in age to Kristo was Vera, the youngest one at 16-years old, who hadn't previously had any entitlement to the kingdom in her name. He excitedly prepared for their union, seeing an end to the war.

Due to his upbringing he understands politics and subtext quite well, but he lacks common sense when it comes to people. He and Vera would butt heads quite often when it came to these things. Kristo saw the greater good, something he hoped would set up greatness for future generations, but Vera saw the emotional tax that would be inflicted upon people, and insisted there always would be a better way. Their relationship was naturally difficult, due to both their opposing world views and that neither had properly met a member of the other species yet, but through adversity it bloomed. Kristo saw the merit in Vera's ideas as she did his, and their bond grew closer as they understood each other more.

Together they hope to fix their kingdom.
