Adelbert is the twin that survived. Unfortunately, he was by no means the favourite. The old owl has little time for people and even less time for talk of 'family'. His distant gaze rarely seems to fall upon those around him. Of course, Adelbert won't allow himself to be surrounded-- by friend nor foe (not that he has very many friends). The owl leaves killing and stalking to the younger, bloodthirsty generations. He bides his time growing flora of a questionable nature, dedicating his every waking minute to the only person who ever made him feel wanted, until his 'time' arrives. He and Gustav are closely knit, although the vulture is hardly affectionate. The men watch one another's backs and ensure that the other never goes hungry.

Despite his gratitude towards Gustav, Adelbert finds him... shifty, to say the least. Gustav worked as his assistant in the owl's previous career as a mortician. Now, Adelbert, more often than not, does what he's told. He wouldn't be without the protection nor brotherhood that the vulture provides... And he'd definitely rather have him as a friend than a foe!
