Of Royal Descent, Lyra flew away from a dysfunctional throne a long time ago. She was wandering about, hoping to find someone hospitable enough to let her reside with them, when she met Leonidas. The two are fond of each other, but it doesn't take a genius to point out the difficulties they would face. Lyra is generally quite withdrawn, but can't help but start talking in the presence of someone she takes a fancy to.
