Chester is infected with Zombipathy. Eating brains relieves symptoms for a time, but comes with memories of the brain's former life. Your doctor recommends adding hot sauce for extra flavor, but a Golden Apple a day will send the Zombipathy away.
Chester's very special treasure!
You were just walking around Silverflecked Village when you noticed something strange, out of the ordinary. All of the Explorers' houses were simple and large, and while this house had a sign saying that the houses resident was indeed an Explorer, the house's exterior design was like that of a Doctor. You would have ignored that on it's own, but then you hear something break from inside. Confused, you went to check it out.
You are just about to knock on the door when you hear another crash from inside. Opening the door, you are surprised to see a deer virtually juggling bottles all while hopping from hoof to hoof, and a panicked expression on his face. Two empty bottles fall and shatter of the ground, and the deer jumps to avoid the glass shards. The last bottle, full of a yellow liquid, goes flying. The deer yelps, and leaps forward, landing on his stomach at your feet. The bottle lands on his nose, shattering. The deer sighs and stands up, finally noticing you. He blushes and takes a step back, his ears flattening against his head. He appears as if he is trying to put his tail in-between his legs.
"O-oh my! I-I'm sorry, I was n-not expecting visitors! A-are you a-alright, d-did the glass hit you?" You shake your head, and he sighs in relief. "G-good," he smiles, walking over to where the empty bottles had shattered. "S-sorry about th-that, by the way," he says while cleaning upon the shards of glass with a broom. "M-my dream is to become a doctor, b-but Rain sees to it that we can never have less than four Explorers. She says I can become a Doctor once we get another Explorer, but I couldn't." He sighs sadly, fumbling with the broomstick. "I-it's these hooves, y-you see. I'm too clumsy with them! I-I could never h-handle all those bottles and t-tools, and them there's this rack!" He pokes an antler with a hoof, and stumbles. "You see? My balance is terrible! I would drop everything all the time!" He looks at you, and is surprised to see that you are still there. "You sh-should go," he tried to smile. "Y-you must have s-somewhere to be, a-and I don't want t-to hold y-you back..." You nod and exit the house, feeling somewhat sorry for the deer.
Meanwhile, Chester let out a sigh as you left, picking up the remnants of what used to be the three bottles. He went over to the door and locked it, then stumbled back over to a calendar located in the back of his home. "I really need to remember to lock that door," he sighed. "It's so close to a full moon after all..."
Chester is a coward. He's a nice guy who likes to help others, but he doesn't do well socially. He wants to make friends, but he doesn't really know how to interact with others. He's a big pushover and doesn't really stand up for himself, so it's up to those from his village to help him when he gets into trouble. This stems from his very low self confidence, as even at a young age he had been told that he would never be able to be anything. And as he grew clumsier, he began to believe what others told him more and more. When someone is kind to him, he does his best to 'stay on their good side'.
Before encountering one, Chester had never believed in werewolves. He had always assumed the beast costumes were responsible for the more savage looking villagers that sometimes prowled the night. However, during one faithful night when the moon shone full, he had encountered a quite monstrous wolf that didn't have any trace of the costume's magic surrounding it. He was bit on his left arm and tossed aside, hitting a brick wall with great impact. As his conscious fled from, him, Chester transformed almost immediately-- killing the beast that had turned him now that he carried the curse himself.
Chester often fears for the safety of others because of this, for while most were-creatures turn only under the light of the full moon, he can turn at will or when he gets too angry. Though he is forced to turn during a full moon like any other with the curse, immediately becoming a savage and murderous beast, during any other turning he remains almost sentient. He turns sinister and scheming, able to function almost normally, but he is still a psychopath underneath. Bursts of bestiality during these turnings can cause him to lash out of others, sometimes with tragic results.
