Griff Sanmar of the Sanmar caravan company was the first born of the leading family. Since his youth the boy was a prankster with a knack for the alchemical and seemingly arcane. One failed prank gained him a permanent blue streak in his horns and left eye all the gold down that line turning blue. Whether or not he knows how to reverse the effects he wears the mark with pride.
His call to adventure was not a pleasant one, growing to be a man when his sister's boyfriend for a full year, a Gryphon betrayed the family and ran off with a large portion of his families wealth. Feeling betrayed and outraged Griff became hateful of Gryphons blaming the entire lot for the actions of one, this hatred grew worse as his group of friends allowed a gryphon in and she on multiple occasions proved herself to be selfish and short sighted and despite himself Griff aided her out of many bad situations due to her membership in their group however nowadays Griff has no animosity towards Gryphons, in his travels he was brought to a gryphon city where trouble lurked. It was here Griff got to see what the average Gryphon was like, hard working honest and open people. The reality he saw crashed against his experiences and the wealth of new knowledge left him conflicted and so he confided in the leader of the party. Griff had entered with hate and left declared a friend to the Gryphons. later in his life, he would rescue a Gryphon from an island and the two would bond over mercantile manners and Griff's arcane knowledge. To the surprise of his friends, the two were soon wed. Griff now is retired from adventuring having hung up his robes and runs a shop with his wife. Sometimes in the dark of night if you wait until the stars shine you'll see him leave his home and mutter a few words of thanks to the stars before returning to bed.
Griff is a wrathful man known to hold grudges if he feels wronged and he will back out of any deal, oath or promise he has made if he feels completing the promise goes against his moral compass, however, despite this he tries to do good, he is charitable to the needy and believes strongly that if one has the merit they should be given the chance to shine. He is a champion of the people willing to throw himself into harm's way be it physical, emotional or social and has many tales of when he stood with his friends to hold back the tides of darkness.
