Salazar was interested in fighting ever since he was a child. When he turned 12, he began training to fight, taught by a mentor. He has been battling ever since.

Salazar's mother and father live in a remote part of Quetzal Palace, which takes a long time to travel to. This is why he barely visits them.
His best friend is Sequin, who was his friend since childhood.
