They were dumped in the woods as a baby. A Dutch Angel Dragon scooped them up and carried them home. They made a great recovery after a few months. (—GeoDahBat)
After that experience they decided, understandably, that they didn't really like their parents anymore. Once they were old enough to survive on their own, they entered the forest a second time. It was there that they discovered how much they enjoyed taking care of the animals they came across. (—Ghastjio)
While wandering the woods one day, they encountered a squirrel that had fallen out of its nest and was unable to move much. Knowing how lonely the squirrel must have felt as they did when they were a baby, they took the squirrel with them to try and heal it. They helped the squirrel recover from it's injuries in their makeshift home in a hollowed-out tree. (—Galaxywolf269)
With their new friend the two of them set out to explore more of the forest eventually coming upon a small building next to a pond. It seemed like no one had been there for some time. Curious, they decided to look inside they found some small trinkets and toys, along with the tools that made them... (—SuspiciousCoffeeMug)
