(Her backstory is completely historical ***fiction*** btw XD)

A young red she-wolf who initially left her pack at the age of 2 years to find a mate and start a new pack, yada-yada, as her instincts instructed her to, but found something more interesting at the end of a long and exciting expedition across the plains of North America. She met and befriended the Lakota Native American tribe, and decided to join their nomadic "pack" instead, endlessly intrigued by their strange human ways.

She learned about their culture and gained their respect as an especially talented hunter and warrior known for her incredible speed and stamina, despite her size, a bit smaller than even the smallest average red she-wolf. She was then given an opportunity to "meet" and worship their deities during an important religious ceremony, during which the unexpected took place. Before the eyes of all, she went through a supernatural transformation of her appearance and some other things. She now displayed human-like locks of barely colored mane on her head and the back of her neck, and the tribe tied her mane back into ponytails and occasionally decorated it with braids and eagle feathers. She also gained the ability to fully comprehend human speech with the intelligence of humans themselves, though she could not speak the language. Her own natural talents were magnified, and most of all, her greatest skill in speed and stamina.

A new chapter began shortly after. With tensions increasing between the foreigners who were colonizing the West and the Natives whose land was being stolen from them, and who were being kicked off their own land simultaneously, there arose an urgant need for communication so that compromises and treaties of peace could be worked out in time before bloodshed broke out. Kitsune became the messenger between the two, her speed and stamina allowing her to travel and carry messages between the colonies and the tribes even faster than the Pony Express. For a short period of time, there seemed to grow a bond of friendship between the colonies and the natives, linked by Kitsune. Both sides treated Kitsune well by showing their appreciation, the natives by welcoming her in as family and prettying up her mane, and the colonies by giving her a scarf to tie the letters to so she could carry them without holding them in her mouth while she ran, and leg wrappings so her legs wouldn't get cut up over time by all the tough, long grasses she ran through at break neck speed.

But the ever so slightly noticeable presence of friendship between the two groups of mankind vanished when the colonies decided that land and profit was more desirable. They attacked the Lakota, and many violent battles were fought, resulting in death on both sides, and Kitsune fought too on the side of the natives. Defeated by firepower and technology, the Lakota natives were at the mercy of the west-ward moving immigrants, and expected to be wiped out completely in the next battle.

As a last ditch effort to make peace so that everyone could live their own lives in peace, they sent Kitsune on one final, dangerous mission, to carry a surrendering message of peace straight into enemy territory, to their leader whom usually read the important letters. She raced across the Wild West, never stopping even once in her two-day-long journey to rest. By morning of the third day, she was seen on the horizon, bulleting towards the settlement. The settlers raised the alarm and began to close the large gates so that their enemy's pet could not get in and attack them, assumed to be on command from its owners, the natives, but to their shock, Kitsune slid through the doors before they could shut them tight.

Now under enemy fire, Kitsune bolted around, raising up the entire settlement in a chaotic frenzy as she searched for their leader to whom she would deliver her message. She found his quarters, but entered through the open doors to find the leader with his gun aimed directly at her. Kitsune started toward him the message in her mouth to offer, and the ground before her paws exploded with gunfire. She dropped the letter and fled just as more shots followed.

Outside, she was met with more assault. It was probably thanks to her own speed, small size, and the accuracy of rifles during that time period that she was able to dodge all the bullets and barely manage to escape from that fort with her life. Kitsune ran with all her might, her mind completely bewildered by the reaction of the settlers. It had been the last straw for her, and the world of peace and happiness with her newfound family she had been at the center of creating was shattered.

In history books, the red wolf messenger was never seen again by anyone from then on, but some say they last saw her fleeing north, running faster than they could ever dream of conveying realistically.

But from another perspective, one might learn that the magically blessed red wolf known as "Kitsune" had gone through Yellowstone Park for a couple of years, slowly traveling further north. Faced with nature all around once again, she was reminded of her new status as a lone wolf, and her instinctual drive to find a mate and start a pack, or maybe join a pack. But none of the existing packs took any interest in letting a strange character like herself, a small, maned, human-influenced, clothed red wolf, join, and she skirted around the edges of territory owned by very territorial timber wolf packs. She was not the same type of wolf as them, after all, being a red wolf and coming from much further south.

As if not seeing humans for so long allowed her to gradually take a break from all the complex drama in the world and go back to her roots, she temporarily went back to the life of a wild lone wolf, but with the skills to take care of herself with little issue. Come fall, she was about to cross the border into Canada in her migration north, to search for a new home, when she met another lone wolf, a perfectly normal male with silver-black fur and dark brown eyes. She became his mate, and he joined her in her search for some good land to settle in and start a new family with her unborn pups.

Their northward travels led them to a brand new and exciting future, in the land known today as Alaska. They found some peaceful tribes of humans who were used to living in the cold climate, and Kitsune was able to easily earn their trust and respect, just as she had done once before to a tribe of natives. Although he was hesitant to go near the humans, her mate was also accepted by the tribe. They let the pair of wolves make their home on the land near by, as Kitsune quickly proved to be just as skilled a hunter as ever, even in a new climate, and a big help to the natives. Her human-like intelligence allowed her to even teach her mate all the very best tricks to hunting elk and the like.

The natives living here were not without their share of troubles, however. They were beset by dangerous predators, always seeking to grab an easy prey, and Kitsune's keen wolf sense quickly earned her a spot as the tribe's number one defender. She was given a great gift to use as her main weapon, a large sword forged and traded from very distant lands, and used it against the tribe's enemies.

As winter passed the midway point, Kitsune gave birth to seven healthy pups, and finally began raising her own pack together with her mate. Her new human tribe family helped care for the pups whenever she and her mate were out hunting and when she was off battling dangerous foes with her sword.

Time passed, and Kitsune had several more litters of pups in the next couple years, who each eventually grew up, some leaving at the age of two to search for their own mate and start a new pack. Today, she has adopted a new job, and has become well known in Alaska for it. Using her incredible speed and stamina, she delivers precious medicine to all those who need it, but can't get a doctor due to the harsh conditions of Alaska. For some reason, helping humans has always been a part of her reason for living life to the fullest.

(oops I accidentally wrote a book. Oh well... Enjoy!)
