Villager: Carmelle

Before you stands an Appaloosa femme, face surrounded by a wild mane of black hair with white and brown streaks. The equine's eyes are a pale green, and her dark muzzle ends in a lightly mottled nose. Her hide is mostly a dark chocolate in color, with her back and rear dappled in white spots. She appears tall and solidly built, not the slightest bit willowy.

HISTORY:

Carmelle was born Carmelle Darkthorn to the Darkthorn Appaloosas, a well-established and large family with many generations of farmers and quite a bit of land under their name in Olde Foxbury. The Darkthorn farm was right next to the land of the Firebrand Mustangs, One day, Carmelle met a young black Mustang named Marcus Firebrand. Carmelle was smitten, and it was not long before they married.

However, a few months into their marriage Marcus was coming home later and later at night, before sometimes disappearing altogether. Carmelle suspected infidelity, but said nothing - until one day, she came home to find an unknown mare leaping out of their bedroom window. The next time anyone saw Marcus, he was buried under the floorboards of a nearby building and Carmelle was gone.

If asked, Carmelle will mourn her husband's death and claim that his soul is "now with her forever." However, she prefers not to talk about details.

PERSONALITY:

Carmelle believes in hard physical work and not much else. She looks down on mages, alchemists, and others who pursue more scholarly pursuits, feeling that they are less practical arts than "getting your hands dirty". She is practical, but narrow-minded. She can be a bit stern and old-fashioned, but is a warm person underneath it all and will step up immediately to aid someone who truly needs help - if she thinks so, at least.
