About

Friendly but flighty, Melpomene can be hard to find- unless you know where the local library is. Then you can find her there, usually.

With a wide array of interests, she knows a little bit of everything, but never enough to keep her out of trouble.

    • *he prodded some of the books* I think some of these are meant for her anyway, they're in correspondence still, he's been teaching her history but it's not the same as visiting a place. *the wanderlust was still in his bones and it might always be, some of Melly's earliest memories were probably of Shaw pointing out some ruin or another while Mal climbed them to survey for his maps*

We'll see if you can't hide for more than ten minutes. *he grinned and then settled them both together in the shade of an overhanging garden, further back on the roof* Have you any plants with you? I'd like to see if they're any good for inks.

    • *he spun her around in a little circle, not even particularly careful of the ledge he was on, she had wings and he was far enough back from it to stave off his fear of heights* Oh now, and it's not up in a floating castle or some such is it, yes? I can physically get to the place without wings or I will have to get the other muses to help.

*he set her down and fiddled with some of the books, setting them to the sun in different ways* We will both come visit you soon, you know habibi would be upset if I came to visit you without him.

    • *he grinned a little but left her tripping over a particular name alone, honestly he was just glad it wasn't one of the other Muses, it was easier for him to keep tabs on Mer* I see I'm on the bottom of the list now, that's how it is these days.

*he patted her on the head gently, between her antlers* Or was I too hard to find? *he'd taken a roost on one of the higher towers of the make-shift city, where he'd hung up some of the parchments to dry in the sun*

    • Best we do that today, if you didn't notice the library got a new shipment in courtesy of a rough storm wrecking a few ships on the barrier reef. He's fixated on sorting them, I spent most of the morning doing book repair.

Have you gone the rounds then already?

    • Very well, and to what do I owe the pleasure of your company, amytri?

    • I will! *she skipped away, waving gaily, and knowing better than to get between him and his books for too long*

    • He didn't instantly gather the reference to wigs but he often didn't pay complete attention when there were books to go through. "Yes yes, be careful and watch your step around here, they're resealing the walkways together so they're looser than usual."

He still worried about her, sisters or no, Melly was easily convinced into things and not the best at telling when someone was being cruel.

    • He frowned and crossed his arms in front of him, "Just tell them you're coming down to help me compile the library, they know how much you like to read. Who you're seeing down here is none of their business."

He huffed a little, "Plant fur coral amongst the daisies, it's not good for the digestion of the animals and they'll steer clear of it. You can weigh down the floating pots with some rocks, go ask Rodney for some spare oceanic crystal, it should do the trick."

    • He quirked an eyebrow at her expressively, "Mostly? Are you still having trouble with some of the Muses?" For the longest time Melly had been their youngest and he knew she was a handful from personal experience, the arrival of Clio to the Museum had seemed to spell an end to most of the strife, or so he'd hoped, erroneously it seemed.
