Facts:
- Though he gets his coat from his pure penguin gryphon father, the rest is from mom, who looks more like a generic gryphon in terms of shape.
- As a child, Almar basically looked like a kiwi. Small and fluffy and brown. Just like king penguin chicks.
- His hat is the one thing he has left from his parents. It is very dear to him.
- He was an only child.
Story
He's a penguin/unidentified bird crossbreed of a gryphon, and he was terrible at his jobs.
Either that, or he just has terrible patience, a trait not inherited from either of his parents. He hasn't really seen them in a while, not after Fahdax came up to him one day and was like yo, we need you on the team.
"What team?" Almar asked, confused.
"The Team."
Still confused, Almar shrugs and joins the falcon anyway. They didn't seem all that threatening, having a friend squad for once in his life seemed like fun, and surely he'd be back home with his parents by evening, right?
Wrong.
Before he even had the chance, Tigerpeak was under attack. Everyone who wasn't a warrior had to shelter themselves and hide, including him and his new friends. By the time the attack was over, his parents and several other residents were nowhere to be found. Welp.
He has no idea if his parents are even alive, and he's not willing to risk finding it out - finding out they're both dead is a very realistic possibility, and he'd much rather live with the hope that they probably weren't killed, and would return someday. The outside world is Dangerous, as they've taught him all these years. Combined with being very much a homebody in general, Almar's not really willing to risk venturing beyond Tigerpeak all by himself.
So it seems like his only option for now is to stay with Fahdax and "the team", which only consisted of him, Fahdax and Hela at that point. They tend to switch around on their jobs whenever they need to.
Later on, Jaldor, Miien and Moz joined them as well. Considering he's a bit shy, he doesn't really know them well yet.
