*Bites* No.
They're super easy to get the hang of if you play around with the colours! Different bases come out differently with the same colours. Mess around with screen and add layers and different pigments to see how stuff works. The reason my paintie for Valorie looks so good is because I shaded the cloak with purple instead of red~ sometimes it takes multiple layers to get certain effects. It's fun to learn new techniques ^^!
FireAlpaca is a good, free program for making painties! It's the one I use and it's pretty simple to figure out. ^^ I haven't updated to any newer versions (because I'm lazy XD) but it's definitely got all the stuff I need to get the job done! I originally couldn't make sense of the paintie tutorial, but once you figure out the layers and settings, it's super simple to make them~
Yep! I do all of mine myself! Sometimes I see other people's painties, and I want to commission them, but there's just something so awesome and good-feely in making them myself XD plus, I have so much fun making them! I even like to just do some in my freetime, even if I'm not planning to upload them~
thank you so much!!! ^^ I actually based her off LRRH, it's my favourite fairy tale ever. I wanted to include all the components of the story (Red Riding Hood herself, the wolf, and the axeman) but also since it's the reaper wolf, >:3c I liked the added touch of her being a reaper.
