The Serpent Festival

Ana says:

Greetings, villagers of the mainland. The time has come, and the serpent has landed on the mainland and is ready for your offerings. This ancient beast is one of the last remaining from the old times, before written history, before the villages came together in a global economy and named themselves, collectively, Furvilla. This serpent is where the villagers of Quetzal Palace have made our town, and its constant movement allows us travel across the entire Furvillian continent. Except for these coming two weeks, at least...

The serpent is peculiar, you see. It enjoys collecting small animals and weaponry/armor (though we are widely uncertain what it does with these items). If you bring it an offering of these items, it will reward you in turn. Our Cloudog species was created by the serpent, and it appears that it has created more life from the clouds:

As you may note, these creatures have a breeding cool-down of one day. This means that you may attempt to breed them, if you are skilled in animal husbandry, or you can continue to offer the serpent creatures in exchange for its creations. You may find that the serpent is more rewarding, if you are seeking out a rarer animal. When the serpent leaves on March 1st, these creatures will become infertile, and will not be able to breed.

But fear not, as the Guardian Angels will be working to collect rare and super rare creatures to offer at the Gala Ball. Nonetheless, if you happen to include 5,000 FC with your animal offering, the serpent may regard which species you prefer.

The serpent is giving away weapons and armor (and a helm) that are far stronger than most we have created... and much more sturdy. Perhaps one day the serpent will share its techniques for durable construction with our blacksmiths... hm...

1671-serpents-feather.png

This is the Serpent's Feather, and you can obtain it by trading in weapons or armor to the serpent. This is the currency of the Gala Ball. If you wish to purchase anything from the Gala, then you should collect these. Hm... I do believe you may want to make sure you collect fifty of these beautiful feathers before the Gala opens... but that is your choice, of course.

That strange fellow who creates all the plushes has been hard at work designing ones for our illustrious festival... now, you may not find you are able to get your paws on these until the Gala opens. However, you can gaze upon them right now and begin your plans for collection.

Speaking of the Gala, you are aware it opens on February 21st at 12:00 PM, yes? I expect you will be getting yourself ready for that... place yourself in a nice suit or dress, and you will look your best. Perhaps you can earn yourself a VIP ticket to the Gala? Do be sure to bring plenty of feathers, as there will be many fashionable objects available at the Gala for your perusal and purchase: plushes, furniture, vistas, rare and super rare creatures... perhaps other things, as we hosts see fit.

It appears that the Skunk and Dutch Angel Dragon species have found their wings in the Fairy Costume... or an extra pair of wings, depending on who you're talking to.

163-21.png163-25.png

The Snake and Dutch Angel Dragon species have learned to smile down upon us from the stars, and can now wear the Galaxy Costume.

161-25.png161-13.png

The Dutch Angel Dragon and Bear species have joined our ranks in the army, and can now wear the Angelic Costume.

Now, if you will excuse me... I am a bit preoccupied with a promise I made earlier... *she searches for a note that she had written, but frustratedly cannot find it* ...oh dear. Well, this may not end well...

    • I am in the process of talking to the head Admin about what I read here and in the forums. Just keep in mind, there's only so much I can do, as my department is the Community, and not running the rest of the site. I appreciate any patience with this.

Unfortunately, I don't have an answer as to WHY, as I did not code or create the event. Though our events are never SOLELY one Village. Just like the TEP event, all villages may participate. It's just how the event is themed that is Village specific. Each Village will have one. I am, however, fairly upset at how quickly the mystery was solved, as it was not meant to be completed in one day, to be honest.

      That would be cool.

Eggs are earned by completing the Serpent Fesitval talked about here in the News Announcement.

    • I'm very confused about what eggs everyone is talking about. Where do we get them? What are they for? I've been looking everywhere and I can't find any info. And what about the frozen bulbs? I'm extremely confused and this isn't talked about anywhere.

    • @ Minkey55 I keep getting the feathered dagger XD
Honestly this festival is doing no end of good for the abundance of pets and weapons that were floating around the stalls, there are so few pages of each now and I will feeding all the mini pets I breed to the serpent right up until the festival ends. RNG trolls me but now and then shocks the hell out of me. This festival is gorgeous. Well done FurVilla on your 2nd festival ever. You do realise you have raised the bar for the May festival!!
Oh also why isn't there a site theme like the winter one??? Will there be one when the gala starts?? C:

Everyone should have been given the same amount of eggs. There is already a difference in trophies handed out. Why do some users only get 1 egg vs others who get 3? They did the same amount of effort. It isn't their fault they couldn't be on right when the event went live. The eggs are already RNG in what you get. Why is it entirely RNG again to see how many you get?

The other issue is the event was misleading into making people think that it was QP only. There was a larger advantage given to those who were in TEP and could get the Frosted Bulbs. The argument could be made that everyone has to help eachother. Yes that is true, but the top 100 were most likely users who were already lucky enough to be in TEP and online at the time the event went live. Most likely they completed their bulbs first, turned it in, then offered to help others get theirs, most likely their friends first before offering to help the open community. This only had to happen 100 times which is easily doable when you have a game with over 100k players.

I feel that what should be done is the serpent gives you "a blessing" and you can go collect the 1-2 eggs you missed out on if your RNG is terrible. There is just no justifiable reason that you should have to get 1 egg for the same amount of effort everyone else put in when you already have a trophy to distinguish the difference in turn-ins as is. To award a person with 3 who did the same thing as you did, is a slap in the face. The egg offspring outcome is already RNG enough as is.

    • @Admin-Deinmaar Oh yeah and I totally understand that! The super rares definitely shouldn't be handed out as easily as the commons, but I don't think everything should depend on luck in this event. Maybe a little bit, but I mean.. with the current way the serpents are handed out it's not for any hard work. A casual player can log in, search up a trade and get their stuff and their eggs and they could just as well hatch a super rare. While a player who might have collected 50+ feathers, worked hard to gather enough weapons/pets/whatever to play the event actively and achieve everything (or close to everything) can just end up with just a common while they maybe have actually worked helping out solving the mystery or have been active during the event.

To a point, SR are what they say they are SUPER Rare. They're going to be expensive, FD and FC. But I'm seeing your point as well. It can be overly frustrating.

    • okay but why only one/two eggs when others are getting three? That is incredibly unfair and frustrating and there's no logical reason for it.

    • @Admin-Deinmaar I'm aware of it being near impossible, but it would be nice to at least have them for sale in the gala, because I doubt a lot of people will be willing to trade their super rares. Let alone what I"ll need to offer for them, because as of right now you can't get anywhere unless you have tons of real money (and thus FD) or you play a game like FR besides FV.

I'm just a bit concerned, don't want this to turn out like the SR snowpets, which are already ridiculously hard to get for new people, let alone what they'll go for in a few months/years. My thing is just that these events are very hard even if you have lots of time to play, while I'm usually used to the type of events in which 'if you play hard enough you can get all the items'. While on FV it's all about RNG and you just.. well.. have to be lucky enough.

While completing the Menagerie isn't something that will give you a trophy or prize, I do see the interest in filling it up. What seems to work well is working with your fellow users to try and help you complete it. Doing it all by yourself would be near-impossible.

As far as if the Serpent pets will be available at the Gala, I'm unsure. I can look into that though.

    • Question about the Gala ...

Furniture. There are still those of us who houses still are not working properly. Will the issue be fixed before the Gala?
