    • AWESOME username!

    • Thank you! <3 your painties are awesome as well! ^^ i also like your username!

    • Personally, I'd say it was a good snag of a username. ;D

    • OKAY so I was just sitting here trying to figure out who you were... due to your name change. I did a huge dumb!

    • That's awesome to hear. I'd be involved more if my social anxiety didn't kick my butt. But whenever approached in person, or online I always preach the good word. Some pet stores take great care of their animals, but there is so much more to it than that. :x

Ahh I'm excited for when they get accepted, I love the style overall. I've always had a thing for watercolor. ;P And thank you! I have more done I just need to upload them - being mobile has made it much more difficult to update that thread.

    • You are very welcome! If you have any questions the guide didn't answer, let me know!

    • It's so sad. :( I've had similar situations; mass breeding is just horrible. People only ever see the horrors of puppy or kitten mills, but never realize when they pick up a snake from petco that there are such things as snake mills (and same goes for parrots, and every other animal!) They're of horrible health, bad genetics, just everything about them is sad. It shortens the poor animal's life and people just don't want to take the time to realize this or care. Impulse buy after impulse buy fuels horrible ethics and breeders.

And it's funny you should mention the gargoyle gecko because that's exactly the kind I've had my eye on. There's a guy in my state that breeds gorgeous geckos, and he's such a nerd.. it's great! I geek out about birds, him about geckos. I always have a great time there. xD

Another thing; your artwork/painterly style is stunning. Have you attempted uploading those painties on your villagers profiles yet? :O

    • Feel free to rant because I feel the same way entirely. So many people have horrible breeding ethics among any animal group it's so disheartening. Then you have good breeders who get shunned from the group because it makes "others look bad". It's just annoying, and horrible - and doesn't help the entirety of the cause at all.

Ooo I wish I could have little noodles of my own. I totally would but my husband is terrified of them and refuses to allow me to. I've convinced him of maybe getting a gecko at some point - but that's as far as he extends his like of reptiles to. Ho hum.

    • I just recently stopped breeding parrots - lost a lot of money and just didn't have the time to devote to them like I hoped to. (Additionally nobody was buying the babies because I won't ship via airlines, and I grew attached to a bunch.. oops!)

Breeding various colors is all about genetics and such - there really aren't many RARE colorations/mutations anymore in most parrot species. Even albino (white w/ red eyes) and lutino (yellow w/ red eyes) tend to be fairly common place. People just know they're in higher demand and slap a higher price tag on them. Which baffles me, and probably would explain why I wasn't taken seriously when I bred birds as all my babies were priced, raised, and loved equally. :>

    • No problem. C: And it's true - most of the medium size and bigger birds are pretty pricey. But it's honestly for good reason. The bigger the bird, the more they expect out of you. I dropped a thousand dollars on my black headed caique - and while I love her to pieces she can be a giant pain in my rump. ;P
