I only know of certain legends and place names, a couple of maori words (Such as Ka pai) but that's how far my Maori goes. Looks like we are sort of trapped in the same boat.

I do remember being told what my iwi was, it's Ngai te rangi i think... though in my family, we call ourself the toolatey tribe. What's your iwi?

I know that feeling, due to the community being like 200-300 people online a day and new zealand posibbly having a really small community for things like this, so it is pretty surprising to find someone else from this country.
