Quinzel and Zelda are inseparable. Known collectively as "The Zels" or sometimes as the singular entity "Zelzel", one is never seen without the other. Nobody knows if they're a romantic or platonic pair.
Bearded vultures dye their naturally snow-white feathers. In olden times this was done with iron-rich clays, but in the modern day many artifical dyes are available. The more traditional go for warm shades, but Quinzel thinks purple looks good with zir black wings and red eyes. Besides, ze wants to be able to be differentiated from Zelda, if just so people get zir pronouns right.
The Zels enjoy exploring together, collecting whatever they find somewhat interesting or useful, and they share the things they can't use with their neighbors (like seeds to the farmer or wood to the carpenter). Their shared home is filled with glass bottles of every shade, some filled with things like buttons or dirt and pebbles from outside of their cloud-and-sky village. The two birds also enjoy flying together, competing in speed, height, fanciness of air tricks, games of tag, and how much they can mess with each other without crashing.
