Good Traits: Studious and intelligent, Emmeline is always looking to learn more. The topic means little, it is the very act of learning more and discovering things that thrills her. She’s not completely bookish however, Emmeline is not above getting down and dirty to make that new breakthrough. Others are often surprised at how much street smarts and world experience she actually has but she often hides it for fear that she sounds bitter. Honest but gentle, tries to encourage others into doing more, particularly if she considers it an educating experience. This can bring out her nurturing side as she tries to guide and advise them.
Flaws: She can be overly manipulative of others, especially if they’re not as quick witted as herself. For the most part she’ll put them to work, helping her with projects and chores. Possessive over her belongings and research, years ago when she was finishing her studies, Emmeline’s research partner stole all their findings and published them under a competing university, before clearing out their lab. These days she is ferocious in defending what’s hers and avoids partnering up with others unless she has full control over her side of the project. Overworks constantly when involved with a project, she spends hours working and will finally crash and spend the next day resting. Once she’s recovered it starts again the next morning till she’s next exhausted. Has a habit of roping her friends into testing her projects, this has had disastrous consequences when she’s mentally and physically exhausted as she’s lost track of which sample she’s using. Residents at the lodge all remember the time she accidentally mixed two unstable components in what was meant to be a growth serum for Zack’s garden. The resulting gas cloud lasted a week and the effects on soil a month.
Skills: Chemistry and an established potion master. Used to work for an apothecary in the city before it shut down, this has given her the skills to do accounting and admin work. Technically has the skills to work as a butcher, thanks to her parents. This is more useful in helping the resident warrior carve the remains of monsters they take down. A very good cook, which she claims comes part of being a potion maker but secretly because she loves food.
Hobbies and Interests: Potion making, research (She’s currently working on a general wonder cure for local maladies) and cooking treats for the others, she’s always surprised by how much she enjoys watching them tuck into one of her meals.
Greatest Joy in Life: When her first experiment succeeded, sparking her passion for the subject ever since.

Relationships
Zack: Works close with Zack to help find ways to keep his garden rich and alive. One of the main requirements for being able to live at the lodge, as a Herbalist he struggles with the quality of the soil degrading. Emmeline helps brew the potions that keep it green and fertile. At one time they both had a crush on each other that turned into something but ultimately fizzled out after a few months. It is still hard for them to be alone together but they are working through it and both are happy to have the other there to lean on.
Murdoc: Works as Murdoc’s accountant for the clinic, in return he stocks some of her potions. Emmeline has a deep respect for the old Vulture, treating him more like a father since hers past away when she was a teen. Murdoc was the one who encouraged her to study alchemy and start a workshop at the lodge after her lab partner stole all their research. She feels he can be a hypocrite, scolding her for over working or to get out and meet people while he plays anti-social hermit in his clinic.
Tand: Wishes that Tand would take learning more seriously. Can be scathing of them at times when she feels they’re being lazy. Currently Emmeline is trying to learn to be more carefree like the Manokit while helping it learn how to cook.
