Villager: Licorice

Follow the lanterns and you'll get to where you need to be

"My name is Licorice! I'm surprised you noticed me... People usually see the lanterns and mist, and don't look too far behind it! ... Oh, yeah, I guess you usually don't see stuffed animals wandering around in the woods at night... I'm not a regular stuffed animal, though, I'm a hallo-mar! Don't worry, I'm not possessed by a demon or anything. I'm just here to make the place a little more festive for halloween! Don't tell anyone I was here, I'm supposed to be more behind-the-scenes... You can tell your friends about this part of the woods, though, make sure they come here at night!"

Licorice is a hard-working hallo-mar who keeps a small patch of woods, using her magic to make the forest especially halloweeny. At night, her stomping grounds are filled with a dark fog that sparkles with faint shimmers of light, the trees gnarl into reaching silhouettes and you may catch glimpses of strange things lurking at the corner of your vision... but stay on the path marked with little purple lanterns and you will see no harm come to you. Keep an eye out, however, when the faint smell of black licorice that fills the forest grows stronger and the sound of a childlike giggling can be heard... You need not fear what lurks in the mist, but you may catch a glimpse of the little one behind the scenes.
