First thing first. Mute is, sorta mute, doesn't use any words at least. They kinda just showed up one cold winter day. See we had just found a couple of fairies and they'd blessed us with some animals. Thing is they were a bit out of control since we had no one in animal husbandry to handle them. Pretty rare little things though.
It took us a while to herd them into one place whilst trying to make sure they didn't eat eachother. Just wondering what the flip to do with them when suddenly this huge shadow's looming over us. Gotta admit it scared the life outta most of us, 'sides Kuto but well, Kuto y'now (or you don't, probably better that way.) The big shadow turned out to be a Wickerbeast, don't often see one a them round here. They nudged past us and communed with the animals (lotsa interesting noises) and settled them all down.
They didn't seem like they wanted to leave, curled up around the animals as they were and I figured we'd be happy to have another villager, specially one with a knack for animals. Asked if they wanted to stay and they nodded so that was about it. Pretty soon they were named Mute, Scythe came up with the name once we realized that they wouldn't talk, they don't seem to mind it at least?
Mute's as gentle as anything, pretty shy too, keeps to themselves and their animals a lot. Happy to join us for village meals though, so long as we don't get too rowdy.
