At least half the rumors about Hex's background were started by her(?), and she(?) has gone to great lengths to obfuscate the few true ones that have yet to be killed off.
What is known for certain is that Hex can be found sneaking into town ahead of Nicholas' caravan. Hex is also usually the last to leave, sticking around long enough to offload any remaining merchandise that doesn't fit on the wagons or that might be...disapproved of...by authorities in caravan's next destination. Another reason Hex sticks around is to make sure customers pay up -- or else.
A frequent customer of Snowy's potions -- often volunteering to test new ones -- Hex's appearance, species, and even gender change fairly often to ensure she(?) remains unrecognized by would-be enemies until it's too late.
