Once, she was the daughter of a rich victorian family - she was born with skin and hair as white as porcelain, and eyes as blue as the ocean - a rare condition, Albinism.

Due to the sensitivity of her skin, and it's tendency to burn within moments of going into the sun, she was allowed out only in the evening - once the sun had gone over the horizon and the blues, pinks, and purples of the sky had begun fading into blue. However, once it became too dark, she was hurried back into the large beachside manor.

One night, on a full moon, she quietly got out of her bed - 16 at the time, and hungering for any freedom she could obtain, she snuck out of her home and wandered down to the beachside. Wading into the calm waters, emboldened by how utterly free she felt, she went farther than was safe, and was dragged into the sea by the undertow. Her parents, upon hearing her desperate, raspy cries for help were shaken from their slumber - but by the time they reached the shore, all that could be seen was Leia's hand - reaching feebly one last, desperate time for help far in the distance.

Soon after her death, her would-have-been suitor was found fatally wounded on the beach - he had been attacked and dragged from his boat, which lay broken on the shore. The only thing he could muster before he succumbed to his wounds was a shaky, fearful murmur -
'she haunts us'

Centuries later, quiet murmurs of her name are still passed between sailors - whispered warnings of what they could only describe as a ghoulish humanoid monster with the lower half of a fish - tales spread of the despaired, sorrowful crying, a mysterious glowing light - and the countless sailors who, gripped by some sort of madness, had jumped silently overboard in the night to follow it - never to be seen again.
