The Shadow Demon of the Crossroads; She Who Binds to Timeline.
Born into existence years and years ago, Kyrie feeds on conflict.
Kyrie was born as a feline-based monster in a cottage in the earliest days of civilization. They lived a happy life with their family before moving to the largest town that they knew of, starting their adult life there.
They fell into what they thought was love with a man, eventually becoming pregnant. At this point, the man left, leaving Kyrie afraid of what to do now.
Once the child was born, Kyrie struggled to find work; the town was human-oriented after all, it was hard for a monster to find work. They eventually found it through street rumours.
That’s right; Kyrie was a hitman for an early mafia.
They were promised that their child would live a happy life and would know their mother as a hero, as long as Kyrie themself carried out kills for these people.
Once, though, they had to kill a witch. That was where their life spiralled into insanity.
The witch cursed Kyrie as she died, damning them to be the shadow they’re known as now. That they’d live forever, travelling worlds to answer to everyone’s beck and call, forced to feed on the chaos and misery they were breeding to survive.
The child grew up and died in a happy, rich life; Kyrie watched from the shadows, and served the mafia until their child passed on.
Since then, Kyrie’s powers have developed. While they can cross timelines and dimensions and universes, and do virtually anything given that someone trades them the right thing, they’ve lost a grip on any sense of home or reality, and their manipulation into getting food has created a world in their mind in which true feelings and acting merge into one.
This is less so now that they've become close companions with Fiver, making her the first demon in Crossroads history to bind herself to a single timeline. They have two children - Pocket and Alexi - that they raise together in Fiver's cottage / restaurant / clinic. Kyrie is still troubled by some things from the Crossroads... But she tries not to think about it.
