About
The world is in tatters. Global warming has taken over and the only thing left in Earth is the mountains and a few scattered "ruins" here and there.
The humans have to fight to survive and sometimes they have to fight the Revan.
What are the Revan?
Well when the world kind of went to Hell, the nuclear plants exploded, leaving all of their radioactive "goop" everywhere and many many animals we're affected by it. One such being this creature, which we will call the Revan.
Description
You know what a Barn Owl is right?
Now imagine that, BUT 5 feet tall, so it'll most likely look down on you.
They are carnivores, with 2 inch claws on the end of their wings, kind of how you would imagine a wyvern to look if they existed.
Its Talons are around the same length and they go out of their way to sharpen them daily on either stone or old rusty metal left over from the "ruins" they find while hunting. They will also kill for sport and have been known to fly in a group after prey when they are normally solitary creatures. A bad habit they got into is going after humans, who have found ways to counteract their attacks, using their weakspot which can be either their eyes or in the direct middle of their chests, below what you humans would call "the sternum"
Now be warned, if a human is alone, you can bet they just became Revan food, for the Revan will find them within minutes and finish them off before they can even call for help.
I'd say the scariest thing about the Revan are its eyes. They look like bottomless pits and if you gaze at for even a second you will be drawn in and death will be upon you!
Sizes
When a Revan is born it is roughly 6 inches tall and then it will grow to about 2-3 foot within 6 months. When fully grown the males can reach 6 foot at most (rarely) and the females 5 feet tall.
Its unknown with how much they weigh as the current humans have only found the carcasses of dead Revans, and they havent been able to get close enough to see without dying.
Habits
Revan's tend to stick by themselves, making nests out of anything they can find, twigs, logs, metal, bones from their prey, and anything shiny they can find.
Its not unheard of to find a Revans nest by seeing it over a mile in the distance with all of the shiny metal in its nest. You can lay about 8-10 humans side by side with how huge its nest is.
They are ALWAYS in the mountains, you can never find one of their nests in a tree.
Breeding
Revan breed in the normal ways birds do although they do not create pairs and prefer to live alone.
Once a Revan hatches, it has until it can fly and then it is kicked out of the nest by its mother and left to fend for itself
My advice would be to stay away from the Revan, as they only carry death on their wings, and are good for nothing beasts that will only bring destruction.
