Villager: Embers

Embers is... rough around the edges, to put it lightly. He's a tease for sure, seeming to catch every little detail and misstep and just as likely to comment on it like it's the most casual thing in the world - always crueler than he really means to be. Make no mistake, Embers is absolutely a bully, but it's moreso out of a place of misunderstanding than genuine malice.

Embers is so often surprised when others are offended by what he says, driven to silence when they rightfully bite back at him - more recently, he's been trying to change how he acts and speaks to others in an effort to apologise and prove himself, though his attempts often fall flat. Whether this be through his own lack of understanding or other's distrust, he finds himself frustrated by his circumstance, which lends itself to his cyclic bite.

He's not stupid by any means, either, making the things he says carry just that bit more weight than they otherwise would've. He has luxurious tastes and detests dirt, mud, and general mess - preferring not to associate with the 'adventurous types'.

His tastes are incredibly refined and he can be incredibly self-critical, much to the shock of those who know him and see him work. Much of his behaviour, including his enjoyment of the finer things in life, are informed by his youth - scrappy and picking at morsels until a chance encounter. Though he's since left the 'riff-raff' of his old friend group, a squadron of bullies, they've left their marks on his behaviour.

He lives in fear of losing his luxury as a result of depression brought on by having very little when he was younger.
